Circa 1955 the Kodak Cresta Brownie was made from Bakelite, and takes 120 film and shooting in a square 6×6 format. I made some modifications covering 2/3rds of the rotary shutter with tape to produce a faster shutter speed of approximately 1/100th second (increased from the 1/40th factory standard) and flipped the lens around backwards, resulting in the ‘dreamy’ soft focus blur effect. This is a UK model and is interesting in that the film plane is curved, and not flat.
